Hope House is an accommodation facility for homeless men from all cultural backgrounds intent on recovering from any of a myriad of setbacks in life.
We offer a safe, secure, drug and alcohol-free home for up to six men in single or twin rooms for a maximum period of six months, during which time they are assisted to regain confidence and self-esteem, participate in education and training programs to ultimately secure employment and independent housing.
Applicants for accommodation and participation in the Hope House programs may refer themselves or be referred by an external agency and are bound by terms and conditions of a rental agreement and a client code of conduct to ensure harmony within the House. The residents within our small community are encouraged to listen, learn, and care for one another. Residents are responsible for tidiness and cleanliness of their rooms, the shared kitchen, dining, lounge, and bathroom facilities and to maintain the House gardens and environs under guidance from the resident House Supervisor
Hope House is located within 500m of the main shopping precinct, social welfare, and support agencies, medical and dental surgeries. Residents are assisted to become proficient in managing their own financial commitments, cooking, washing, and maintaining personal hygiene standards and any personal problems faced by our clients are addressed immediately by staff in a professional manner.
Consideration for staff, volunteers and the local community is paramount, and whilst clients are free to shop and undertake leisure activities when not attending programs or at work, a nightly curfew ensures residents are not disturbing one another.
